This project was unusual in many respects, not only because it is an actual Swiss chalet on the banks of the Thames in Richmond, but because it was listed ii and needed to be lifted above the functional flood plain. The project required amendments to the access decks and detailing of balustrades, which needed civil engineering consideration of how the project could be carried out, safely, and in accordance with stringent planning conditions. The lift was a success and it is thanks to Richmond planning department that the project could be carried out. Watch the video of the lift.
