Thirteen and a half guests for dinner – Berkhamsted

RRA Architects > Thirteen and a half guests for dinner – Berkhamsted

April 8, 2018 / By admin

We are working with the Earl of Bradford on a new restaurant project in Berkhamsted, located in the town’s high street. What is peculiar to this project is that it is located on an ancient burial site, which lies beneath the existing building. The burial ground was used in the C11th to bury victims of leprosy. The RRA design requires removal of parts of the floor to support a mezzanine deck and associated restaurant equipment and this requires careful negotiation of the archeology. We are hopeful that thirteen and a half guests won’t be turning up for dinner..
