At RRA we think we are pretty good at what we do, but don’t take our word for it, read what our clients and colleagues say below. And, if these testimonials are not enough you can find more on our 5 star rated Houzz profile.
RRA Architects: a thoroughly nice bunch of chaps.
Brian Ballard, Client
RRA provided an excellent service with regular communication, advice and guidance – highly recommended to anyone looking for a complete and realistic architectural service

The development is a complex project for a number of reasons, we chose RRA Architects because, from working together on previous projects, we knew they had the experience, knowledge and design ability to deliver on both aesthetic and practical application of the scheme.

We would whole heartedly recommend RRA having just completed an extension with them. Their designs included features which have become favourites in our finished kitchen. It could have been a fairly ‘predictable’ extension but because of their ideas we have something which, we think, is pretty special and a bit ‘different’. We enjoyed working with Mark and Oliver who, throughout the process, were very patient, and they worked brilliantly with our builders to make sure things went as smoothly as possible.
Mark and Cath Lambert, Clients
When I received a phone call from Mark telling me that it was proposed that our property should feature in his newsletter and would I be prepared to provide a short testimonial I was able to say without hesitation that I would be delighted. Our project was to turn a Curtilage Listed Coach House into a super home without destroying evidence of its origins. We had never previously used RRA and we were needing an architect with flair, ‘can do attitude’ and an ability to work with the Conservation Officer and our builder on a project that was to last for 11 months. Their team were a joy to work with and the result has been admired by so many visitors and loved by us every moment of every day.
Thank you all.
Mike Cuttell, Client
In 2019 RRA designed a living space and wet room for my disabled husband, with a separate bedsit above, from an existing double garage. They prepared tenders, secured a reputable builder and helped oversee the project. I was particularly impressed that RRA took time to discuss my husband’s specific needs with various professionals (in particular the storage and movement of large and cumbersome equipment) as this was critical to the success of the project. The result is a light, airy, compact design which makes very good use of every inch of space and works extremely well for my husband and his carers.
The RRA team were, without exception, diligent, professional, focused and very pleasant. Their design was creative and practical. I had confidence in them and they explained anything I didn’t understand, including billing and certification. They were lovely to work with, I am delighted with the result and would not hesitate to use them again.

Kate and I wanted to thank RRA for the extraordinary role you’ve played throughout. From the initial brief, bringing that to life through detailed plans and drawings and then working tirelessly with ourselves and Analytic throughout the build … I will certainly be recommending you/RRA to friends and colleagues based on the exceptional service we’ve received and of course we’re happy to provide any endorsements of your work to your future clients.

At RRA they focus on ensuring each employee is well looked after and encourages team work throughout the practice. Great Architectural company to work for!
A. Snowdon, Architectural Placement
This is the second time I’ve worked with RRA. When you instruct RRA, they work WITH you and not for you, so much is their vested interest in your project.
Mark, Oli and the team have a wide understanding of Planning policy, a great eye for architectural detail & design and a thorough and proficient knowledge of building regs and construction practice.
The fact that I’ve already instructed RRA to join me on a much larger project hopefully speaks volumes of how much value their work.

(Said in reference to our Hilcot Barn Project)
Ross-on-Wye Town Council has been so pleased with the works carried out by Lucia at RRA on the Market House in town. The Architect’s professionalism, pragmatism and can do- attitude has ensured we have stayed on track the whole time. The meetings were well organised and managed and the minutes were always circulated quickly afterwards giving a high degree of confidence to the Councillors. The process has been painless due to their diligence and efforts and it is very satisfying me for professionally to have been involved in, what for Ross was such a high profile project.
Sarah Robson, Ross-On-Wye Town Council
RRA architects (Mark Powles) were part of this ambitious restoration project from just after the outset. He prepared the plans (based on historic records for the heritage aspects and creative thinking for the hard and soft landscaping), the tendering documents and applications for permissions, and managed the contractors. The project came in within budget, achieved the heritage restoration and landscaping objectives and was finished much sooner than had first seemed possible. Mark worked successfully with the complications of a partnership made up of a local charity (Friends of Pittville) and Cheltenham Borough Council. He was able to rework plans flexibly to fit with grant application successes so that the original 2-phase project was finished earlier than had been anticipated. Mark was very much part of the successful team.
Judie Hodsdon, Friends of Pittville, Client
Clear-thinking, customer-focused and sensitive to conservation issues, this friendly and reassuring team have been full of ideas and a delight to work with.
Sara Lewis, Client
We commissioned RRA to work on our project and design for us a scheme which would be sympathetic to the local Heritage. Alex Whibley and Alex Jones were exceptionally professional in their approach, efficient and responsive to the complexities of the planning rules and we were delighted with the scheme they designed. After much negotiation with RRA support we were successfully awarded planning consent.
Thank you Alex and Alex and RRA.
