Conservation repair works have started on the Grade II* listed St. Michael and All Angels Church in Herefordshire. The grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund will address the major repairs needed to the tower, the roofs, rainwater goods, stonework, the porch, several windows, internal walls and ceilings, and electrics. The project started with excavations for a French drain where the contractors, watched over by an Archaeologist, discovered a previous building or an earlier phase to the 12th Century Church. In the forthcoming month, works will commence on the scaffolding and re-roofing work.
