As part of our Employer Supported Volunteering (ESV) scheme, Group Operations Director, Jane Cooke, recently spent a very rewarding day at Balcarras School in Cheltenham, conducting annual mock job interviews with the Year 10 students and was most impressed with the student’s preparation and commitment. Jane also took the opportunity to stay a little longer to offer a year 11 student interview practice prior to his real interview later that week providing him with direct guidance and advice.
It was a really enriching day for both students and all the companies taking part, creating an invaluable bridge between education and local businesses. As a firm believer in community engagement, RRA was delighted to play such an important role in helping prepare the students for their future and Jane very much looks forward to being invited back next year, having praised the schools proactive encouragement of all its students.
Thanking the companies that took part, Careers Advisor, Jill Lewis, reported that “Teachers said the students arrived back at class with big smiles, feeling much more confident, talking about the questions they had been asked and saying how much they enjoyed the experience.”
Whilst Jane was there, Jill was also kind enough to arrange a tour of the Balcarras Music School which was designed by RRA back in 2018.
