RRA is inspired by great buildings and great cities, we are extremely lucky to have both at Greyfriars Gate, a speculative 52 dwelling apartment development project that pushed the boundaries of ‘green’ urban living.

This housing project is a fitting landmark for the city of Hereford, as the balances a concrete mass of the 1950’s bridge structure with more domestic scale housing to the north and west.

Greyfriars achieved a CABE and English Heritage endorsement for design as a project which captured UK policy on sustainable urban development. Individual apartments included solar shading, access to edible gardens, natural ventilation and integrated energy generation via district heating.
