A Big Congratulations To All Competition Winners
Congratulations to all the winners of the charitable art competition organised by Hereford law firm, Harrison Clark Rickerbys inc Gordon Lutton. The competition attracted no less than 96 entries of a very high standard.
Special congratulations from RRA are extended to Linda Pitcher who won the RRA sponsored category, ‘The City’. Linda’s picture of the inside of Hereford cathedral showed exceptional talent and an aptitude to capture the essence of space.
The competition designed around celebrating Herefordshire had five categories; City, Leisure, Portrait, Landscape and Wildcard. Entrants were invited to express their passion for Herefordshire, with a chance to raise £250 for their chosen charities. Each entrant had to submit an original piece of artwork along with the completed sentence ‘Herefordshire is my passion because…’
Linda, a local artist whose work can be seen at LindaPitcherFineArt.co.uk was delighted to win, particularly with such stiff competition in The City category. After being presented with her certificate and award-winning classic curvée from Hereford’s very own vineyard, Castle Brook, Linda chose the very worthy charity of Yeleni Therapy and Support to receive the money.
Entries were judged by a panel comprising local artists and the firm’s partners on the criteria of how the artwork reflects the character of the county, together with how the artist expressed their own passion for the county in the piece.
The winners were announced on Monday 12th November at a drinks reception at All Saints Church, Hereford with superb hospitality provided by Bill at the Cafe at All Saints. All the winning artworks are on display in Harrison Clark Rickerbys conference rooms at their offices in Thorpe House, 29 Broad St, Hereford.
RRA was very happy to be part of the event along with other sponsors; the Harrison Clark Rickerbys Charitable Trust, Brightwells, the Institute of Art & Law and Gallery 54.
