Building Site to Building Sight

This self build project has been transformed from a 1960’s style suburban dwelling into a handsome contemporary home right in the heart of Tivoli, Cheltenham.

Working with the Client, RRA assisted with drawings and technical information to bring about the transformation of what was a tired outdated old property, the result, a new contemporary home with improved energy performance features and crisply detailed cladding with glimmering windows and doors.

Whilst refurb-projects attract 20% vat there is still merit in transforming existing properties, as the outlay costs are still much lower than a complete rebuild – which would attract 0% rate for vat.

Those considering transforming an existing home, should perhaps look to properties built in the 1960’s and 1970’s, as they tend to have very good internal space standards and the proportion of the elevations and roof overhang lend themselves to simple and excellent transformation – as this RRA example in Tivoli highlights.
