As part of our 40 projects for 40 years series, celebrating the 40th anniversary of RRA Architects, we begin where it all started.
This is Week 1 of our 40 projects celebrating 40 years of RRA Architects.
Packers House in Hereford holds a special place in our story as the very first office of RRA Architects.
Before founding the business in 1986, Rod Robinson had already been involved in remodelling the building while working in a previous role. When he launched his own practice, the first floor of Packers House became the offices of Rod Robinson Associates.

From these modest beginnings, the foundations of the practice were laid.
Nine years later, in 1995, our current Managing Director, Mark Powles, joined the practice as the office junior. Over time, the team grew and the practice developed a strong reputation across Herefordshire and the surrounding counties.
Packers House supported the company as it expanded in both size and ambition right up until 2010, when RRA moved into its own landmark building, The Watershed, on the banks of the River Wye.
But more on that project another week…

Over the coming months, we will be revisiting projects that have shaped RRA Architects over the past 40 years.
Follow the series using #RRAat40 and #40YearsOfTrustedDesign.
